A Little Tango Music by Adam Gorb

A Little Tango Music, like many of Adam Gorb’s works for band, is centered on dance music. The tango is an urban dance from Argentina, a genre that is believed to have begun during the late 19th century in poor neighborhoods surrounding Buenos Aires. It is a rather dramatic form—a dance that features a couple in a tight embrace, texts (when applicable) that are emotional and sentimental, and music that is frequently in the minor mode, highlighted with abrupt accents and dynamic contrasts. Gorb describes the tango as “curvaceous, melancholic, and dangerous.”
